My Story

Aksu Catering will be newly formed start-up business aiming at providing catering and mobile chef services specialised in meat preparation, traditional Turkish and Ottoman dishes, mezzes, also referred as starters or side dishes (which is a selection of small dishes served to accompany alcoholic drinks in the Near East, the Balkans, and parts of Central Asia. Mezze is also often served at the beginning of multi-course meals.). As most food businesses prepare their mezze and meat beforehand and preserve it to serve within the day, they usually require calling in a professional for these purposes.

Also, there are catering organisations, businesses that serve food for their employees and individuals that need a professional chef expertise in meat, mezzes and Turkish and Ottoman cuisines for certain periods, whether for their business premises or special events, offering main courses food preparation, to side dishes, Turkish Meze (appetizers) and salad preparation will be Mr Aksu’s target customers.

There are currently businesses such as coffee shops, restaurants, catering organisations and sandwich bars that are not able to hire a full time professional to introduce them to new mezzes and Turkish and Ottoman cuisines and provide cooking and instruction services. Mr Aksu aims to target these food businesses as his customers therefore, he can attend to their premises and improve their product range by providing instructions and cooking facilities for his intended Turkish and Ottoman cuisines as well as mezzes. Also, he will provide preparation of meat such as kebabs and mezzes as they can be prepared in bulk and stored for a long time to be served throughout the week.

Mr Aksu is a young and dynamic individual, familiar with industry working hours and conditions, well experienced in preparing numerous types of meats, mezze, Turkish, Ottoman and many other cuisines and is ambitious to start his own business in the UK. He is an experienced individual with many training and certificates in the industry including Mastery Certificate in Food and Starter Preparation by Ministry of Education in Turkey. Prior to his decision to start a business, he had managed to observe the changes in the food market.

The diversity in food premises has increased with many food trends cuisines. During his observations while contacting those business owners and restaurant goers in the UK, he has managed to point out that the businesses had struggled to introduce a wider range of starters and cuisines due to generalisation of mezzes in Turkish and Middle Eastern restaurants in London.
